Deadline Extended for Dare2Document Filmmaking Contest
When ‘Opposition Knocks’
What’s that I hear?! The kind people at FFF have decided to extend the deadline for submissions until the 14th April?! Wonderful! That means YOU have two extra weeks to get that film proposal together and exactly one month from today…
With the elections now safely in the bag, we hope to see the submissions pouring in. The elections opened a whole can of worms of human rights issues; from free and fair elections, student democratic rights, race politics and discrimination, to gender equality and representation of women in parliament – attracting much media attention over the last weeks. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg or should I say ‘wave’.
Go on. Give it a go. We dare you to document.
On The Road Again
Hey kids! The FFF08 team are back on the road again to promote this year’s Dare2Document filmmaking competition. We’ve already made our presence felt at Sunway College, The One Academy and IACT with a series of Democratic Space workshops, screening ‘Sepuluh Tahun Sebelum Merdeka’ and ‘She’s My Son’.
Thanks to all who have attended so far and I hope to see proposals from every single one of you! Don’t forget, if you need help writing a proposal or just need general cajoling to move your procrastinating butts, please give us a call – we at FFF are more than happy to talk you through it.
Also, thanks to Fahmi and Indra who graciously lended their time to come and talk about their award winning films. I think you’ve managed to light the fire in a few hearts…We even sold some merchandise! Heheh Fahmi was wishing he’d brought his tshirts to sell too.
Next stop – MMU – Tuesday 11th March and then Taylors College on the 12th. If you are an MMU or Taylors student please pop by and join the workshop. It will be a real eye opener.

The KOMAS Freedom Film Festival (FFF) which started in 2004 adopts the themes encompassed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) which express our aspirations for genuine justice, peace, equality and democracy. Through an annual film contest, workshops and screenings, FFF provides a platform to showcase films and documentaries focusing on social issues that affects ordinary people.
