Many countries including Malaysia has recently embarked on a nuclear energy plan. However, the public has yet to understand or engaged in meaningful debate on the issue. By looking at Australia’s experience of uranium mining, this film presents the opportunities and risks posed by the production of nuclear energy.

Dr. Ron Mc Coy
Dr McCoy has been actively involved in the worldwide physicians’ movement for
the elimination of nuclear weapons since 1986. He is founder president of Malaysian Physicians for Social Responsibility and past president of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1985. He was a member of the Canberra Commission on the Elimination of Nuclear Weapons, appointed by the Australian government in 1995. He has published papers and lectured on the abolition of nuclear weapons, as he believes that the babies he has delivered deserve to live in a world free of nuclear weapons.
